We want to send a huge thank you to everyone who submitted a proposal; your creativity and collaborative spirit are what make this mission possible.
A truly European effort
We received 21 project proposals, involving 117 different organizations. Applicants told us they loved the simplified application form and the matchmaking platform that helped them find the right partners quickly.
While partners joined from all over Europe, we saw especially strong teamwork from these regions:
- Normandy (France)
- Navarre (Spain)
- Scotland (UK)
- Northern Netherlands
- Dalarna, Gävleborg, and Värmland (Sweden)
What are the projects focusing on?
The proposals targeted the most urgent challenges in our economy today. The top themes included:
- Industrial Symbiosis: Finding ways for one industry’s waste to become another’s raw material
- Resource Efficiency & Waste Reduction: Using less and reusing more
- Key Industries: Most projects focused on Food & Agriculture, the Bioeconomy, and Water Management
What’s next?
We are currently in the evaluation phase to select the winning proposals.
But we aren't stopping there! We are already planning the second Open Call, with a few exciting updates in the works:
- New regions: We expect Lithuania and Flanders to join
- More time: We hope to open the next call earlier (ideally before October) to give you more time to build your teams
- Flexible rules: We are looking into making it even easier to form partnerships across different countries
We will announce the final selected projects by the end of June.
